@verdommeman btw it took me 5 times to submit this topic , it gave error couldn't find category
two things... first is the bandwidth for the forums has gotten a 10x increase so things should be buttery smooth for everyone now from what I hear others saying.... second if you try using blagos avx2 addition you should get closer to 39,000 nonces/minute like I am with the i7-8700 (non-k) version...
@Jaxblack We have caught smurfs and gnome-like folk having dance parties on the CPU coolers with our security cameras ;D
@HiDevin These Burst rigs are hiding from the noise and heat of the rest of our mining warehouse~ This is the only space we have that does not have adequate ventilation~ which the Burst rigs really don't need :) So we put it to good use . . . besides, something about hard-drives and safes, just seem to go together ;)
You can get a power strip surge protector that has wide-spaced outlets. I'm using a bestek 8-outlet desktop power strip with 2 outlets on each surface. Each two outlets can be controlled by independent switches. You can also get a swivel tap power strip that has swivel outlets, so you can rotate the outlet to any direction for larger plugs without interfering others.
Which miner are you using? If you're using some GPU assisted one, which GPU you have?:)
You've said that you're using usb controller card with separate controller for each usb port. Which one - Sonnet Allegro Pro?
@rds Yes one was a month ago for me and the replacement was blue. Any spare hard drive I put into the failed one shows up as a raw drive so the controller must me bad. Now maybe I know why it failed and this one must be the drive I fixed the partition on months ago
@Zyrem When you Optimize with a GPU it will start out very slow. Initially it shows you your real speed of Nonces per minute and then takes a dramatic dive. If you plot Buffered it will write to RAM and then to Drive and not do that.
Toward the end of Optimized plotting you will be using the full speed of the GPU. The other thing to remember is that you can only write so fast to the Drive.
GPU is meant really for multiple drive plotting from what I understand. It is the only way to really use the higher end cards.
I have a 6 Core that does about 14K per minute using 10 of the 12 Threads while I mine and write to the drive simultaneously. It buffers and Plots Optimized with XPlotter too. Soon as the drive Writes the next set of Buffered Nonces are about ready to write.

For me they're doing around $2.20 - $2.50/day on Nicehash - 50 day ROI, then profit ..........
I picked this up for ETH, but I'll look into Nicehash - i like the single slot setup

a GTX 1060 GPU for fast plotting,...
what plotting rate are you getting & would you share your config?
I'm trying to find the best GPU plotter/dollar.
@Yottaphat actually i am a patient person too!(believe it or not hahaha) but the netdiff is not patient and keep on rising and running from miners so i need to run too!!
really my patience is so long → this long -----
@burst.x You didn't receive any help, because you don't really need help. You have everything you need and only you can answer that question properly, as long as you have basic understanding of how computers and HDDs and plotting, etc. works. Which definitely seems like it.
Looks like your connection to Burst - Efficient HDD Mining was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
