Multiple potfiles with diffrent stagger size ?
-
If i have plot a file from a computer with ex 16 gb of ram and then add more ram to get 32gb and pot a 2 plot file with lager stagger size
is there any issues with using both plotfile from a computer with say 8 gb ram when mining ?

I don't think so. The stagger size is just for the plotting speed and not the mining. (I hope I'm right). Anyways, I have different computer speeds and i transfer a lot of hard drives from one pc to another. It doesn't matter to me.

@Pulpie @jervis
It doesn't matter the difference of stagger in different plot files. In a perfect plot you will have the stagger equal to the number of nonces in that plot instead of the number of nonces being a multiple of the stagger... This is what you do when you optimize a plot (change the stagger of a plot to the exact same number of nonces ploted). The reason for this optimized plots is, let's take this example:
plot1: 123456789123456_0_1000_100 (non-optimized)
plot2: 123456789123456_0_1000_1000 (optimized)When you are reading the plots (mining) with plot1 you will need 10x more time to read it because it will read the total of 1000 nonces in chunks of 100 nonces, so you will have 10 Scoops to read, while in the plot2 you will only have one Scoop.
When you open the miner that seconds that the miner takes until it shows you what is the total size of your plot size is when the miner reads the complete file and identify how many GB you have plotted and how many scoops you have, then in each block the miner only read one nonce out of each scoop, that's the reason mining (find for deadlines) just take some seconds normally... Hope it makes sense! You can find more info about optimized plots on the Burst Software category > Plot optimizer

@gpedro I dont know about this. so, how can i optimize a plot?
-
@jervis Look for Plot Optimizer on the Burst Software Area... It'll speed up your reading speeds but you will need the same size of the plot you're trying to optimize as free space, but could be in another drive... You even have a GUI in the topic, although i never could use the GUI, i just used the command line usually... If you can't use the GUI and need help let me know and i will get my bat on the other PC xP

@gpedro where is the plot optimizer? I can't see it on the wallet. I can't see it in the folder. Maybe it's a ghost of some sort? XD
-
@jervis No... I meant this Burst software area, not the wallet:https://forums.burst-team.us/category/9/burst-software
Plot Optimizer: https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/26/plot-optimizer-v1-6-with-gui-1-0-3-j6jq-win/20

@gpedro I see it now. freaking java... always with the java.
-
@gpedro do i need to optimize plot if i have 17 seconds to read all my plots?
-
@jervis no you don't... my only plot's that are optimized are the google drives, the other ones are not...
-
@gpedro wouldn't Google sue you for that? LOL!
-
@jervis For what? Use their clouds? actually that accounts are from someone that lives in a lot of places in the world LOOL

thx for good info
