Hello Bursters!
First of all, I would like to welcome you all to the fascinating world of Burst. Thank you for alloting a part of your time to join this great community. And time is of the essence.
I remember when I was new here, I had to struggle with all the reading and searching and inquiring just to sort out everything about Burst and finally start to relate, understand, mine, invest, and enjoy. I had a hard time jumping from one thread to another, reading here and reading there, asking questions and don't know sometimes if my questions were being answered or not.
So, in leiu with this, I want to help you save time and energy. I have compiled the basics (I hope I don't miss anything) to walk you through this wonderful thing called BURST Universe.
- CLICK HERE FOR THE AIO BURST WALLET. First of all, you need to install your All-in-One wallet to get you started. Watch the instructional video to learn how to Install the wallet, plot your hard drives, and start mining.
- CLICK HERE FOR THE PLOTSCHECKER. This is optional, but if your plots are not working perfectly because it was cut off in your plotting process or any other reasons, use the plotschecker. If your plot problems persist, don't hesitate to ask anyone.
- CLICK HERE FOR PLOT OPTIMIZATION. This is also optional. This is handy for those that have more than enought plots in their HDDs. This will cut the time for your CPU to read all your plots.
- CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEOS. This is a thread where instructional videos on how to mine Burst are put together by @daWallet.
- CLICK HERE FOR MINING POOL LIST. When you start mining for Burst, you will probably need to be in a POOL. Therefore, this might help you a lot.
- CLICK HERE FOR REWARD ASSIGNMENT. This item here is one of the most asked question here in this forum, someone made a doodle to show you how simple it is to set/change reward assignment.
- As you're mining, you may want to know to buy and sell burst in Poloniex (Trade).
- CLICK HERE FOR ACQUIRING ASSETS TUTORIAL. After you've set up your mining empire, you may want to venture the business side of BURST. Hence, we have an Asset Exchange where you can acquire Burst assets.
- When you need to talk to someone regarding your concerns and feel that the forum is not enough, we have a CHAT. Please go to ALTTECH.CHAT.
If I have missed something, please by all means, help me out and post it in thread. I hope this might help to lessen the beginner's difficulty level in the forum.
Happy Bursting Everyone!
Also, there's another article I wrote about Investing in Asset Exchange. You can find it here:

@dagentlemang Thanks. I made this walkthrough to help our new members have more enjoyable time than being in limbo, as most of us has experienced before. I really hope this gets a sticky in the forum so that beginners might make this a go-to place to start with.
@haitch what do you think?
-
@jervis It's pinned/stickied - needs some cleaning up, but a good starting point.
-
@haitch Thanks.
-
Are there charts showing price history of assets?
-
@alexclarkbarry I was going to ask the same thing.

Are there charts showing price history of assets?
great question. Let's put this inquiry to the higher up. @haitch is that possible to do?
-
@jervis Not currently.

@alexclarkbarry @newsense2004 the master has spoken.
-
The data about asset price over time is saved on the blockchain. Someone can extract and visualize it.
-
@daWallet where would I find this information, and what format is it in?
-
@alexclarkbarry It is worth to take a look at the NXT API:

Hello, I'm new in burst mining. I'm currently mining in pool.burst-team.us, how long does it take to see result? I really don't know how mining works. I have so many question like:
If I shut down my PC will the mining stop?
If it does, can I resume it?
Will I pay another burst for mining resume?
How many burst can I gain with my 17GB?
After I gained burst, will I again write plot to mine again? or is the plot forever?
-
If I shut down my PC will the mining stop?
yes
If it does, can I resume it?yes
Will I pay another burst for mining resume?no
How many burst can I gain with my 17GB?http://burstcoin.biz/calculator
After I gained burst, will I again write plot to mine again? or is the plot forever? The plot is forever
Seeing results will depend on the pool you are in. Typically, when you reach 300 burst or 24hrs has past. Which ever comes first.

Thank you so much for the quick reply.

@starsia_maf Also see the recommended plot sizes for the pools here : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KHu9BWwy_QXIYAx2m_Tzs9BqPoTYUDhEDbHihZEXGsE/edit#gid=81124645
pool.burst-team.us is not a good choice for very small miners.
-
@Gadrah_ Thanks for the info. what pool can you suggest? is it pool.devip.xyz? I'm really new and I'm still learning this mining method.
-
@starsia_maf Every pool with a recommended plot size below 1TB will do it ! But 17GB is a very small plot, you will not get much coins
-
@Gadrah_ is right, that is a small amount of gb space. You can get burst with that amonut but it's going to take you a long time to do so. I recommend you giving Surfbar(ref link) a try. I produce about 130 Burst per day on Surfbar. The amount of burst depends on the current price of burst on the exchanges so the amount varies.
