I lost all my assets didn't I?
-
I was stupid and didn't write down my password. I ended up destroying it in a copy/paste mistake. No way of getting them back correct? I luckily had no Burst because I put any Burst I got into assets. I didn't write down how many of which assets I had so I don't even know how to get back to what I had.
-
What did you write it on? Depending on the editor you can try Ctrl Z to revese your edits. There are some data recovery software you can use but I don't really know much about those.
-
@newsense2004 If you can't ctrl-z to undo a copy/paste, and you have no other copy, then yeah, sorry, you're screwed.
-
@haitch Thanks. I was pretty sure but had to ask.
-
Man that sucks I hope you are able to get back your password.
This is my worst fear. Which is why I printed the stuff out and it sits in a folder next to my pc.
-
@newsense2004 I have two copies of the file that holds my passphrases - it's a manual copy when one gets updated. But that means I can't accidentally trash both copies.
-
@haitch I will do that in the future with a paper copy too.

If you were using notepad check this

http://smallbusiness.chron.com/restore-previous-versions-word-file-54121.htmlI'm sorry man.
-
I have copies all over my hard drives and I have many hard drives.
and printed too. Is there any other way to recover this?
-
@newsense2004 Do you have NEWS asset? if you do, please send me your old wallet and send me your new wallet address. I'll do a manual dividend transfer to your new wallet. It's not such a laborious job.
-
@jervis Thanks but I only just recently bought a few shares just to remind me to buy more when I can afford it but if it's a really easy task my new Burst address is BURST-ES5N-MTPD-F4RD-A5B5A (password backed up x3) and my old one is BURST-B4UJ-PJFR-YV9W-FVDC9
-
@newsense2004 yes, it's easy. I just have to exempt your old account from the automatic payout and then do a manual sending of burst to your new account. it will only take most likely 5 minutes if the wallet dont fck up. It's all good bud. I got you covered on my end.
-
@jervis Thanks again and don't look at the amount of shares lol. I planned on buying some when I could so those are just a reminder
-
@newsense2004 it doesnt matter bud. I just want all NEWS shareholders to feel that you're all equals. We do business with you all, so i have to be flexible to your needs, especially if it's doable and no sweat involved.
now, take care of that password. Don't lose it again. XD
-
@jervis Yes sir and thank you again. Gave me motivation to start over again.
