Pros and cons of solo vs. pool mining
-
What are the pros and cons of solo versus pool mining?
-
Pools - more consistent payouts, but slightly less (on average) income.
Soloe - Slightly higher (on average income), but you might go days/weeks without forging a block.
-
Thx. By estimate, how many TB would one need to have in plots before going solo will have a noticeable effect or is worth doing at all? Because obviously if you have too few Tb and go solo, you will never find a block and thus waste your time.

@Propagandalf I wouldn't solo with out at least 20+TB, but given that (depending on pool) the pool fee is only 0.5-2%, the difference is barely worth it. I've got my 100TB Miner on a pool, and the 55TB one that's plotting will be on a pool as well.

One Pro that I will add regarding a pool is that they usually have a nice interface for watching your miner, which I kind of like.

ive got myself 10x 4tb and i will pool mine with them also

@haitch @DrTrouble @KeenHero Thanks for all the input. If I had the right plot size, I think I would go for pools as well, just to be more flexible, maybe try different pools, and also to have the pool stats to compare. Unless the difference in income was huge, then I might reconsider.
