Trying to understand mining and how it relates to Rewards and Drive size at http://pool.burst4all.com/

  • I have a total of 6.1TB and am mining at http://pool.burst4all.com/. I am adding some screen shots that will hopefully help, but what I have noticed is that I am constantly receiving less share than others that are mining with lower TB than I have.

So what matters more - the amount of hard drive you have plotted, or the speed of the drives, or the speed of your connection - or all of the above? Basically I want to know how to optimize what I have so I can add on more TB - or if it is even worth adding to the system I have or what needs upgraded. Speed test added as well.

Please let me know what else I can do.

  • Hi there,

Plots optimization here great tuto (check also others Lee's videos, some other informative stuff about Burst mining)

Speed connection does not matter unless u own a server pool. What matter is the size of ur drive and the optimization of plots. What matters also is the speed of Drive's reading. CPU and GPU matters in plotting but then still optimization is needed.

As for now thats what I can tell, I just started few days ago as well.

No 1 is the TB you are mining with
No 2 is the time it takes to read the Plots (less than 30 seconds and you are fine, over a Minute then if you have not done so optimise the Plots. If still over a minute then look at how the drives are interfaced and the system spec)

However the gain from 2 is only relevant to Quick Blocks and the gain is relatively small.

The final point is that the reported TB for other Miners is often smaller than actual if they are for instance mining on two PC's then only one is picked up for the reported size.

  • vary common for people to use two computers to mine with same wallet address on the same pool , they will show up on the pool as 1 miner but the UI will only show the amount of TB's from 1 of the computers and not the combined amount. normaly witch ever computer first sent in a DL when the miner was turned on. common for people that have a working old PC or Laptop not used for anything else and it cuts the time to read total plots down by dividing them betwen comps
