New to Burstcoin

  • Hello newbie to Burstcoin, looking forward to it. Already setup my wallet and managed to begin mining (very small scale) before I boost up my gear. However just yesterday my all-in-1 wallet that I installed will not connect to the burst server to show my coins. Getting a "Cannot Connect to server" after I enter my passphrase.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

    try using the online wallet to check your balance

    join Falconburstpool.xyz port 8080
    reward= BURST-UTS4-HPFZ-XJHL-B9BB2

    GOODLUCK!!

  • I do not recommend to use online wallets. They are not safe.

    Use this wallet instead: https://github.com/burst-team/burstcoin/releases/

    Also a good pools for new miners are located at ninja.burstcoin.ml

  • @Zohtar Ok no laughing but I was testing to see if I could even mine. I started with 1TB on Burst.Ninja (not the one you recommended) and they were not friendly to those with small plots. I can test with the one you recommended. I was able to get on another pool and finally saw my application behaving like it should. I know, I know I need more drives.

    Not to segway too much from my original question but here is where I am confused. When I setup my all in one wallet with Burst. I was able to get my Burst account number, my numeric ID and setup a user name. If I go to another wallet, won't I loose all of that?

    e.g. What I don't know how do the pools recognize that I moved to another Pool or is it just a matter of giving them my new BURST Wallet address?

    Is there is no relationship between my all in one wallet and my burst account?

    FYI thanks in advance for the suggestion but if someone can answer my questions that would be great.

    No you will not. I may take a shot time to sync before you can see it :)

    You have to set your rewardassigment to the pool, then they know you mine for them.

    Yes, they are the same

    I did not get a warm and fussy with the AIO software. Felt buggy. Zohtar I will download your wallet and try and sync up. Just so I am clear, if I do download the wallet you suggested I should be able to retain my User ID, Wallet Address and Numeric ID I established on the Burst AIO?

    If that works I will jump on the pool you suggested.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Its all the same no matter what BirstCoin Wallet you ude 😁👌🏻

  • @Zohtar How does one figure out if your being paid (sent coins to your wallet) ?

    I have seen a video where someone goes on the block-chain and downloads the transactions and sorts out their wallet but they did not go through the details. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

  • @Digidigm You can visit one of the block explorers like https://explore.burst.cryptoguru.org/ and search for your address. It will list incoming/outgoing transactions.

    Like FlippyCakes says, they blockchain is public to all. That means that everybody can see every transaction made with burstcoin.

    Flippy Cakes - Thx disregard my previous writing. So I just take that last set of numbers and letters off my burst account and put it in the top right hand corner and press enter. Then the magic happens !!! Right now zero, due to my small plot file.

  • @Zohtar / Anyone Here is one for the newbies and of course my self and it has to do with the reward assignment.

    The question is: Do I have to keep issuing (sending) a reward assignment every time I switch back to a previously mined pool?

    Scenario;

    Step 1: I send reward assignment to pool "A" I want to mine in

    Step 2: Setup all my info and begin mining

    Step 3: I don't like pool "A" pool and now I want to mine a new pool "B", so I send a reward assignment now to pool "B"

    Step 4: Pool "B" is not working for me for whatever reason and I decide I want to go back to pool "A"

    Step 5: Do I need to send a SECOND REWARD ASSIGMENT TO POOL "A" to start mining with pool "A" again?

    Digidigm

  • @Digidigm

    Everytime you change your target pool for mining, you need to do a rewardassignment.
    So yes, you need to assign A again. :)

  • admin

    @Digidigm Yes. You need to do a reward assignment everytime you change pools.

  • @ALL - I am getting the following when I mine on my CPU *! GMI: get mining info failed:: 10060

    CPU miner is up and running my config file is as follow, Any Ideas what it could be ?

    "UpdaterAddr" : "pool.burst-team.us",

  • @Digidigm

    If I change my Name on Set Account Info in my AIO wallet from say xyz to abc do I need to resubmit a reward assignment to the pool I am in?

  • @Digidigm No, the reward recipient is attached to your account until you specifically change reward assignment to someone else.

  • Team, I am mining on pool.burst-team.us, under the user Digidigm-1

    What does it mean when you see when you see w/ D = 4 days, 8 hours, 18 mins, 46 secs
    after your user name.

    It seems like I was able to mine a portion of that block but I don't get the relationship to the number of days and hours.
    pool.burst-team.us Block # 415247

    Thanks in advance.

  • It means, that you had the best deadline in the pool for this block, but you dont generate this block, the right side is for best miner on pool #Block X and left side for who generate in the network the block. lovely regards.

  • @MrWho Thanks so does one get a reward of some sort for being the best miner?
