Newbie - thanks for the first burst but now I'm stuck
-
I downloaded the blockchain, and have my disks plotted. In order to try to figure out what my target deadline was so I could join an appropriate pool, I did the solo mining option. I somehow burned one of my bursts and in the miner window it seems the solo mining radio button is locked and there is no 'stop mining' button.
How do I 'stop' mining, and how do I figure out my target deadline so I can join the right pool, and I have 1 burst left. Do I need another one now?
-
found target deadline in my miner.conf. Is that my number? Also for solo I set my reward recipient to myself... wondering if that is what was getting me stuck...
-
OK I think I need 1 more per this find: https://forums.getburst.net/t/regretting-setting-up-solo-mining-need-1-burst-to-change-to-a-pool/1741. I think that is my issue. Can someone bum me another burst? BURST-9JEM-3CXY-4QVV-D7AH2

Sorry 2 more I think. I think now I buned another one that I shouldn't have.

@brandonprasnick
You only do the reward assignment when you want to change it. it is your account by default.
Your deadline is what you see in the miner console, what it is submitting. It varies for each block. I guess you should make sure that most of your submitted DL's are les than the max allowed pool deadline.
The Deadline in the .conf is the maximum the miner will submit. you set this to the max pool deadline if you mine in a pool. If you mine solo it does not matter much.

Everytime I click start mining, a window pops up and disappears on the wallet -> tools -> miner -> blago cpu miner. Not sure if it's working... I don't want to mine solo, I want to join the sono-burstteampool.com but can't join the pool in the miner UI as pool mining is greyed out. I think this is because I don't have enough bursts?
-
uselog false in config shows me the console now. I think I just need 2 more bursts to join a pool now... thanks!

So now somehow my wallet ID has changed. I don't know how the heck that happened. I tried closing the wallet and restarting now everything is gone. Frustrated because I got solo mining to work. Very disappointed at this software.
-
weird I can see my dashboard here: https://wallet1.burstnation.com:8125/index.html
Not sure what's wrong with the client
-
if I look at console I see a failed to initialize pool exception
-
not sure how - but I got my local wallet back. I did copy the wallet from my qbundle folder to my appdata folder - not sure if that fixed it or why it wasn't there to begin with.... still need 2 bursts.
-
now it seems like my local wallet is loaded - but it won't start
-
appears now my issue is with H2 database. wow. frustrating
-
re-downloading the blockchain (ug) can I have 2 more bursts now that I know what I'm doing (kind of) BURST-9JEM-3CXY-4QVV-D7AH2

@brandonprasnick
calm down...
first step, get your wallet running. It needs to be in sync to be of any use.
I use the standalone wallet; otherwise use qbundle. I would recommend to use mariadb as it is much faster and more stable.
Then get your miner to work with solo mining. when you see that is working as you want - then change to a pool.I'm sending you a couple burst, but please make sure your setup is running ok before you configure the pool/reward assignment.

Just got back from a two week business trip and I'm all setup now. Thanks for all the help.
