Drive space....
-
Why is drive space so important?
-
@gzone whenever you are mining every new block your computer scans the hard drives in a certain area and reads the hashes in that area and uses an algo to turn those into numbers known as deadlines. the more hard drive space there is, the more hashes there are to attempt to find a better deadline (better deadline is a lower deadline)
-
@stupendelious Thank you for the explanation.
-
@gzone
Burst is mined by hdd, it works with precalculated hashes, stored on hdd.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.msg8276740#msg8276740
Your HDD space is like your hashrate, so as much as you're willing to use.

@luxe, thanks for the link. Like the "learning" part of this site. Looking at the contents now.
-
@gzone with most other crypto coins, the number of MHash you have dictates you earnings. In Burst, your capacity is the equivalent of those GPU/CPU/ASIC MHash - the more capacity, the more hash you have.

Just downloaded "Bustcoin-1.2.6" I'm hoping that this is the current version. Then I will go forward with the install, and, hope I have a wallet as well as a way to mine coin with you all. Just noticed that it does not have an "install".
-
Well got my Burst address...have an indicator saying "Downloading Blockchain". Do I need this to mine?
-
@gzone No, that is for your local wallet, you can mine without it, and use your online wallet to monitor your balance

How do I get anonlie wallet?
-
@gzone on the client you have on the menus on top LOCAL WALLET and ONLINE WALLET and you can also access your online wallet in:
https://wallet.burst-team.us:8125/index.html
https://wallet.burst-team.us:8126/index.html
https://wallet.burst-team.us:8127/index.html

Thank you @caligiuri , and, @gpedro My local wallet is version 1.2.6 I don't see were I have the option to mine from it or the online version.
-
@gzone at the bottom it says, start mining and write plots, first you have to write plots, then you can start mining
-
@caligiuri Both my local wallet version 1.2.6 as well as my online wallet look the same. Their is no "start mining" choices.
-
If you are using Windows, try to use dawallets Windows version: https://github.com/dawallet/burstwindowswallet/releases
-
@gzone Use this online wallet on your browser...
https://wallet.burst-team.us:8126/index.html
Make sure you insert your real password... Each port used are diferent local wallets on servers and the one you are using are in maintenance.
And for the reward assignment (you will need 1 BURST) use:
https://wallet.burst-team.us:8126/rewardassignment.html
Don't care about the first two text boxes, in the third insert your passphrase and on the fourth insert
BURST-7Z2V-J9CF-NCW9-HWFRY
wait 4 blocks (around 20 min.), and HAPPY MINING!!
