GPU needed for ETH mining

Is it true that you can't mine ETH with a GPU that has 2GB or less of video memory? Someone told me that the other day. I never tried to mine ETH.

@hidevin , so the video mem has to be greater than the DAG file? Can't use CPU mem or virtual mem to augment the video memory?
