what is the minimum space required for mining?
-
guys, what is the minimum space that is needed for a polo mining?
-
There's no minimum but I recommend you 100 GB at least to have some results. It is a linear function. Double the space, double the possibility to find coins in the long run.
-
ok thanks da wallet, i hope after this it will show some deadline..
-
@Joyboy6267 Better you mine on pool.burstcoin.eu - it's the best pools for smaller miners.
-
i don't know whats happening, why i have no deadline..
okey @daWallet, i'll try..
BTW THANKS
-
@Joyboy6267 You're mining on the wrong pool. You will get on this pool a deadline every day.
-
hahaha... okey @daWallet thanks for the big help..
-
@daWallet How much can you make per day with a 4TB Hard Drive?
-
-
@tross Thanks!

@HeisenberG101 Just bear in mind that the calculator really is a rough estimate, you'll have to add a good sprinkling of luck to get equal to, or better than, the calculation it provides. But it's not all about the numbers, the community here is great, I hope you enjoy it. Good luck!
-
@mindthegap Thanks for the info. BTW, how much memory is enough for it to be worth mining?
-
@HeisenberG101 When you say memory, you mean RAM? Well the beauty of BURST a high spec setup simply isn't required. You can use a cheap PC or laptop and just add storage to get things going. Heck you can even burst mine cloud storage from your Onedrive/GDrive!
In terms of ROI, burst hasn't really caught up on the exchanges yet, so it can be difficult to work out how much of your time and effort to invest. Just bear in mind that:
a. BURST is really easy to setup and get started with
b. It isn't hard on your kit, Hash-based mining is sadistic by comparison.
c. BURST has a great community and the PoC concept is novel. If it takes off, happy days for allHave a go and have fun, but remember, storage is king with burst... chuck a couple of TB into a pool and see how you get on!
Good luck. K.

how much ram do you need? planning on buying a 4tb configue, how much ram do i need to purchase to run the system for burst?
-
@cccorp also, should i be bother about the numbers of cores in the computer?

Ram can speed up the time that it takes to plot. After that, you don't need a lot to mine.
Should I be bother about the numbers of cores in the computer?
Some have reported they use an Intel Core 2 Duo and the miner works fine. Some are using top of the line hardware. Some are creating 1pb mining servers. IMO If you have a pc built post 2012 you should be fine.

@tross How accurate are the calcs? Bc i have a 40TB rig and I do not make anywhere near what the calc says I should be. I have a good computer also. i5 4 cores 8gb ram all externals have 3.0s and its a wire connection
-
@mrusso I find the calculator quite accurate, but you need to look over a number of Days as there is significant variance.
I am running around 50TB and the calculator predicts 6336 per day. My average over the 16 Days of this Month is 6598, so very close.
However my best Day was 12175 and my worst was 2586.

@RichBC ohhhhh that makes alot more sense. I had a really bad week though. I have 40Tb and i did like 8k in a week. I have a feeling it was the pool i was in though because the week prior to that i did like 25k in a dif pool. What pool do you mine in your rig is only 10 TB larger than mine so maybe im just in the wrong pools
-
@mrusso I Mine on ninja. Only make 2 out of 3 Deadlines but prefer it because I have a very poor Internet connection and the smaller number of miners reduces the times that I do not get a confirmation. I do however have a very fast scan speed of 8 Seconds for the 50TB which I think gives me a little bit Extra...
